Privacy Policy

Look, we're architects, not data miners. Here's the straight talk on how we handle your info.

Last updated: December 2024

The Basics

We're a small architecture studio in Toronto, and honestly, we're more interested in designing your dream space than selling your email to random companies.

When you reach out to us about a project or just browse our portfolio, we collect some info. Nothing creepy - just what we need to actually work with you or improve our site. Think of this page as our promise to keep things transparent and respectful.

Alright, here's what we typically gather:

  • Contact Details: Your name, email, phone number, and address when you fill out our contact form or send us a project inquiry. Can't really design your space without knowing who you are, right?
  • Project Information: Details about what you're looking for - whether it's a residential build, commercial space, or renovation. The more you tell us, the better we can help.
  • Technical Stuff: IP address, browser type, device info, pages you visit on our site. Standard website analytics really - helps us figure out if our site's actually working properly.
  • Communication Records: Emails, calls, meeting notes. We keep these so we don't forget what we discussed three months down the line.
We don't collect financial data directly - payment processing goes through secure third-party providers.

Let's be real - we're not a tech company mining data for profit. Here's what we do with your info:

Project Work

Responding to inquiries, preparing proposals, actually designing and building your projects. You know, the whole reason you contacted us.

Communication

Keeping you updated on project progress, answering questions, scheduling site visits. Basic professional stuff.

Site Improvement

Figuring out which pages people actually look at, fixing broken links, making the site less annoying to use.

Legal Compliance

Meeting Canadian privacy laws, keeping records for business purposes, protecting against fraud. The boring but necessary stuff.

We're pretty protective of your info. But sometimes we gotta share it:

Project Partners

Engineers, contractors, consultants who're working on your project. They need certain details to do their job. We make sure they're bound by confidentiality agreements.

Service Providers

Email hosting, website hosting, cloud storage - the tech folks who keep our digital infrastructure running. They're vetted and contractually obligated to protect your data.

Legal Requirements

If the law requires it or if we need to protect our rights. Think court orders, government requests, that sort of thing.

We don't sell your data. Period. We're not in that business.

Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately.

Type Purpose Duration
Essential Make the site function properly - stuff like remembering your preferences Session/1 year
Analytics Help us understand how people use the site so we can make it better 2 years
Functional Remember your settings and preferences for a smoother experience 1 year

You can block cookies through your browser settings, but heads up - some parts of the site might not work as smoothly.

We take security seriously, even if we're not a tech company. Here's what we do:

Encryption
SSL certificates and encrypted storage for sensitive data
Access Control
Only team members who need access get access
Regular Updates
Keeping our systems patched and up to date
Real talk: No system is 100% secure. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what happened.

Under Canadian privacy laws (specifically PIPEDA), you've got some solid rights:

  • Access: You can ask to see what personal info we've got on you. We'll provide it within 30 days.
  • Correction: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your info? We can do that, unless we legally need to keep it (like for accounting or ongoing projects).
  • Opt-Out: Don't wanna receive our occasional project updates? Just say so. No hard feelings.
  • Withdraw Consent: Changed your mind about something you agreed to? You can take it back anytime.

To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at info@kytherionforgequint.info or give us a call.

We don't hoard data forever. Here's our general approach:

  • Active Projects: Throughout the project duration plus 7 years (Canadian accounting requirements)
  • Inquiries That Don't Turn Into Projects: About 2 years, then we delete 'em
  • Marketing Communications: Until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop
  • Website Analytics: Typically 26 months, then it's automatically purged

If you want us to delete something sooner, just ask. We're flexible.

Our site might link to other websites - contractor portfolios, material suppliers, that sort of thing. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply.

We try to link to reputable sites, but we can't be responsible for their privacy practices. Take a sec to read their policies if you're sharing personal info with them.

Privacy laws evolve, our business evolves, so this policy might change from time to time. When we make significant updates, we'll:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Send an email to current clients if the changes affect them
  • Post a notice on our homepage for a month or so

We won't make changes that reduce your rights under this policy without your explicit consent.

Got Questions or Concerns?

Privacy stuff can be confusing. If something here doesn't make sense or you've got concerns about how we're handling your data, just reach out. We'd rather you ask than wonder.
